The final day!!!!

After a night of drinking whiskey, beer, wine, and more beer, I did make it back in to the Congress Centre for SCU this morning, all be it after sourcing a very good cup of coffee!!

SCU - Coffee

I didn’t attend any morning sessions today as I had some meetings to attend, but I do want to watch the “Azure Site Recovery” session by Michel Luscher and Thomas Maurer when the recording is available.  The first session I did attend today was “SquaredUp: Revolutionise SCOM” which was a very well presented session by Richard South of SquaredUp, explaining how to use all the features of the latest version of SquaredUp.  There was also customer and partner demonstrations of what can be achieved, which provided a lot of food for thought fo my next dashboards!!

As an added bonus, I won a Lego Death Star from SquaredUp for my community dashboard submissions… This was great to receive on the last day of SCU!!

SCU - Death Star Win

For those of you that don’t know me, I’m the one on the left… The gentleman on the right is Gareth, who was also very pleased to win a Death Star 🙂

After all that excitement, I relaxed with a nice lunch…

SCU - Beer

Then, suitably calmed down, it was back to the Congress Centre for the Conference Closing Note with Farewell Fun!!  This was a very original closing session, and a lot of fun… It’s been a long time since I’ve seen so many people buzzing at a closing session!  One of the reasons for this was that Marcel Zehner brought in his Tesla, which was then controlled by PowerShell and OpsMgr on stage; a great System Center use case!!

Next up was a trivia quiz hosted by Maarten Goet which had everyone wanting to win prizes, including me, and for the second time in one day, I won a prize… A power bank courtesy of OpsLogix!

There was also giveaways from all the sponsors, and then the announcement that SCU will be in Berlin next year!  It was the perfect way to close out the conference.  Thank you and well done to everyone involved!!

As mentioned for the previous two days, I am taking plenty of pictures within the event, and of Basel.  All the pictures I have taken, and will take,  are available here… Go take a look 🙂
